It depends on the company and the job you are applying for. If proficiency in English is stated in the job requirement, then surely the hiring person will expect you to speak, read and write in English fluently.

it is depending on the situation. If the interviewer is speaking Chinese ,just take it easy. it might not be necessary to have a better English to succeed in job interview
