Is it OK to ask about time for prayers during interview?

There is no harm in asking - a truly good employer with a positive company culture embraces religious needs and practices. Of course, it is not uncommon to find companies that don't have specific daily alloted times given for prayers, except perhaps for Fridays. An important factor is also the industry in which one is looking to find a job. If it is in the service industry, it's most unlikely to get time off specifically for prayers, as breaks are based on shift schedules.

This the reality of a job. When I was working overseas I snatched the prayer during lunch time. Of course it's not satisfactory but at least I did it. Asar would be after office hours. So this is your choice and sacrifice you may make. Maybe you are the only person who cares about it but when you are employed and the "bigger boss" see how good an employee you are then they will give some time perhaps for you. But I see it as something that is not about they are anti-religion but they want the time for work to be about work and they want it same for everyone. Maybe they had problems with people take advantage before. I am not defending them, as if I have an office I want to see results no matter you spend your time, but for some employers it just boils down to the boss and what she decides.
