I need to double check - if the expatriate got contract to work in Malaysia for one year, when comes to PCB tax calculation, we select him as "pemastautin" and he can 'enjoy' the lower tax rate as Malaysian, correct? Actually the above statement is given by LHDN tax officer, but sometimes different officer gives different information .

If they have contract more than 6 months, we normally gave malaysia tax rate. We do inform the staff that if they are leaving malaysia, they will have to do tax clearance and if they didn’t meet 182 days stay in malaysia. any tax different will be bear by the said employee. we’ve been practised this.
