What to do with colleagues who has less accountability?
I always help this colleague but get nothing in return, I am so fed up.

We're all different. Apparently you value accountability and he doesn't. We can't force people to change or be like us. Just see things for the way they are, and move on. You probably can't change his lack of accountability, but you certainly should be able to change your frustration.

Some people are givers, some are takers. If you are bothered by someone who is just a taker, stop being a giver to them. To quote Nancy Reagan, just say no. Maybe if you don't spend time helping them, you won't need help yourself.

Employment is a great teacher The nasty games people play don’t stop when you clock out at 5.

What do you mean by support? And if this has happened 15 times, then it's more on you to not expect that behavior from him (i.e. fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me.)

If this support is something he is required to do then document it. I used to work in healthcare and some procedures of moving a patient require two people or more. If it's something like that and someone gets hurt you will be in trouble. Document, document, document.

Did you tell about his problem? What was his response when you talked to him about this problem?

Let him fail. You don't share managers so you definitely are not obligated to carry his weight, even if he did it's still not your job.

By doing his work you're only protecting him and creating more work for yourself. If his work ethic becomes a problem for management, they'll step in real quick.
