Should I be more of a team player or independent worker?
Sometimes I find it easier to do stuff on my own but I always see advice saying bosses like team players, how ah?

Both. You work together as a team but you can be independent in the same time. When you do your work, probably need some advice from your team mate which might be more experiences. If your task or project huge and dateline is tight, you might need help from your team to complete it together. So team work is important while doing your job independently.
