How many month employee can apply unpaid leave

Like to find out from u all, is there any law stated that how many months of unpaid leave that an employee can apply?I have a scenario, a staff has been hospitalize for 2 months (60days) and took 30days of unpaid leave, he had cancer and definitely he couldnt continue to work anymore, yet he doesn’t want to tender resignation.

Written in company policy. If no policy, follow hand book or email/memo to employees. Up to the company its fall under benefit. Some company they refer on market serounding and nature of business for bench marking. 60 days is reasonable but some company not clear stated 60 days and employee may determine 60 days when they are working not include off day, rest day and PH. If they works only 15 days per month for shift 12 hours unpaid leave will be 4 months plus.
