Is it possible after agreeing for certain position & salary and it can get change last minute to different salary?

if someone from Perak was interviewed hr by call and he was offered the position of technical assistant with a salary of rm1800, and when he came to work in Selangor, hr apologized and talked about a salary of rm1600. Offer letter for late after being urged. the position stated is correct as technical assistant but the work is done as an operator. when he asked a local friend, also got an answer as an operator. My question is, what should he do? is there a report in JTK? he wants to resign by today.

Lodge a complaint at the Labour Office. The Labour Officer can exercise his powers under section 79 of the EA 1955 to investigate and instruct the employer to honor his earlier offer BUT do not resign as yet until you receive the wages for the month. The payslip will be proof if the employer honors his offer. If he gives an alternate unfavourable offer, you can reject it and resign 24 for breach of promise. 🙏
