The resignation period for probation

I have 1 probationer that tender resign last week. In his contract, saying 1 week notice (probation) 1month notice (confirm),  Okay, but in his letter he wanted to finish this month which its about 13 days. Ok, but this staff was asking me that 30th (Saturday) to consider his rest day. Where our company actually close every sunday. I need advise from HR senior in this group. Tq in advance for your opinion

The notice requirement for resignation is not rigid as it cannot be extended should both party agrees to it. Nevertheless in accordance to the info provided, employee wanted to leave by giving longer notice.... . If this is not acceptable by employer, than you can advise employee about it. Employee is trying to be smart to get as much as they can from employer..this is standard. Do not fall for this one.

I would suggest you to stop his employment until the day you do not want to pay him anymore, unless your management decided otherwise. I do not see any reason to create other unnecessary excuses which may lead to further complication in future
