In my personal opinion as HR manager, i came across many CVs , good and bad ones. Because most HR or recruiters dont have a lot of time to read evert single line, it is very important to wirte a good resume that captures their attention. Here is my advice: 1. Never copy and paste a JD from your current job description and put into your resume 2. Make it personalised...highlight key achievements that can related to the job you applied. Hence, you always have to rewrite your CV - i have seen candidate use a resume that is for another position and sent it to me. 3. Write straight to the point...don't give long sentences. Make sure you check your spelling. Follow up on your application. I usually will at times entertain a candidate if he is very persistent or he makes attempt to call me to find out on the status. This shows his character. I can't speak for every HR or recruiter out there, as everyone has their own selection critieria.
