Can deduct AL as UPL if staff already tender resignation?

If staff take AL on January for 6 days, then he tender resignation letter on February. My question.. 1) Can we deduct his leave as UPL as my boss said, he not entitled for AL anymore because he already tender his resignation? Thank you expert.

Tender resignation still entitled for prorated AL if employee under EA provided still got AL balance.
