As according to what the Labour Officer told me (JTK KL), no approval is needed and we can proceed with pay cut, temporary lay-off after 30 days of submission. Employers just need to inform them to ensure we pay lay-off or retrenchment benefits to those who are covered under the Employment Act) and those above RM2K really depends on the employment contract.

My company is doing F&B and I've already submitted Borang PK in Feb because the business is really bad. Our sales has been dropping a lot and suddenly government declared MCO, and MOHR instructed all employers must pay full salary without deduction of UPL or AL.

JTK asked me to refer back and check with JTK KL where I submitted by borang PK. I called them for a few days no one answered. So I emailed them, but no reply from them as well.

PK Form is used to notify JTK on the number of employees who are under retrenchment/ lay off/ salary reduction. Notification has to be made 30 days before any retrenchment/ lay off/ salary reduction. PK Form is not restricted to employees who are below RM2k wages or manual labours, this notification is applicable to all employees, regardless whether employees fall under EA1955 or not.
