Employee still under probation period... and about to due for confirmation. Can employer end the employment on the ground of redundancy/retrenchment by just paying the notice period (not performance issue)? These ppl are less than a year of service with co. Good practice is to compensate something but what if the Mgmt refused to pay? What is the market practise on paying mutual separate or vss? A month for a year of service?

Follow your T&C. If can give additional compensation is optional but better. However, staff may file complaint to JTK if they feel unfair. There is no market practice on this. Employers are very cautious on this matter. If you are free, pls check the case of MAS. Or else, discuss wt your mgmt on how much they are willing to spend for this.
