One of my friends company deduct Al for this office closure. I would like to ask whether this can be done

info from meca*Payment of salaries* As there are still no clear indication from the Government, our stand is that all employers affected have *3 options*: *1. Grant full pay for all employees* - You may grant this for the whole 14 days. This is also applicable for employees working from home. *2. Apply quota of leave* - Employees should be asked to first use their annual leave. If the employees have no more annual leave, Company may grant advance leave. Upon this is being unenforceable or have been exhausted, we will proceed to unpaid leave. When we talk about unpaid leave, there is always a risk that employees will claim their salary or the Government shall announce to impose full pay. If this happens, Companies just need to reimburse the amount owing to the staff. *3. Combination of full pay and force leave* - You can also consider portions being full pay and the other portion to be usage of annual leave or unpaid leave. Again, this may attract the above risk but easily rectified. Hope to have clarified. More questions will be addressed in the circular which we will be circulating soon. Hope this clarifies.
