Is it acceptable if I set my expected salary around MYR2.5k? Fyi, I have 2+ years of experience and my last salary was MYR2k (basic, doesn't include offshore pay).

Its depends on what job are you finding and depends on the company. Because normally the company have an estimation of salary for all the position. So if you want to get a job easier, you can based on the salary they posted in job portal and set your expected salary around there.
