Can company HR do this kind of thing? Please advise

So the company management just announced that the company is having financial issues and they ask employee to sign the so called "voluntary pay cut letter" . And the time given is just 1 day, failing to sign is default to agreeing the pay cut. I find this quite unreasonable. May I know if such move is legal?

For me, I think this is completely fine as salary is fluctuated.

This is just the normal procedure. Morally, there should be a proper communication between the employee and HR in order to better understand the ongoing financial situation.

The company should announce pay cut during meeting with the employee so that everyone in the company actually know what is going on. If they simply say cannot tahan, employee also nothing can do.

Company have the rights to cut your salary as long as they can provide you a valid reason. And i think financial crisis is quite reasonable one.

Always look at the bright side. The company did what they could, and held the responsibility to not fired you guys. Its rude, but its still better than firing you.
