Deduct staff salary will affect our claim for subsidy wages?

I have one question, as we have online task via our company whatsapp group to staff, once in a week with datelines to make them involved even for below Executive level employees.  During this online session some staff didnt turn up online without any reason or notice..and it happen several time. Even early we have pre-empt and notice the online task time & date to all. So we decide to deduct their salary for 1day that is today. Is it allowed to deduct salary for such reason and is it will affect our claim for subsidy wages?

IMHO, did u pre-empt that participation to this online task is compulsory and pre-empt them that attendance will be taken before the start of the session? Secondly, is every staff capable of answering the online task? Thirdly, did u check and ask everyone during the session? Eg. By calling the staff name, etc. If the above has been properly communicated, I think it is legitimate to deduct salary and it won't affect the wages subsidy claim since it is considered absentism. Let's see if others have different opinion?
