Should I pay 1 day or double pay on the workers that came to work on rest day?

This is the scenario: The staff monthly salary RM2500. He comes to work on rest day due to manpower shortages. He works 8 hours per day. Can I pay him 1 day paid instead of double paid ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing he was paid by monthly. So it does not matter he work or not on rest day, it will be consider as one day paid (rest day paid). If he's working on rest day, 1/2 day OT ( for less than 4 hours) , 1 full day OT (more than 4 hours) , 2x OT if more than 8 hours (for every extra hours)
