Raya Haji is a public holiday in Malaysia. According to the Employment Act 1955, all employees are entitled to 11 days of paid public holidays each year, and Raya Haji is one of them. It is not up to the company to decide whether to give it or not. If a company requires its employees to work on Raya Haji, they must compensate them with an additional day off or pay them double their normal working day's wage. However, if the company is involved in essential services such as hospitals and airports, their employees may be required to work on public holidays. In such cases, alternative arrangements must be made to compensate the employees affected accordingly. It is the responsibility of the HR department to ensure that the company complies with the Employment Act 1955, and all employees are treated fairly and respectfully, regardless of their religion or ethnicity.
