Work in government sector or private sector?

Hi Guys. I just received from the government offer for a J41 position at KKM. And right now I work as a project manager at MNC. The pay for the government is around 1.5k lower than my current salary. But its ok for me(im single). But im kind of afraid about the my career will be stagnant. Not sure what should I pick. hope i can get some constructive idea from you guys. thanks

Hi. I just want to chip in a little. You've already answered and countered the consequences of lower salary and it seems just fine for you. so i would say just go for it.

But, to be fair, every person may have a different mental make up, work preferences and career outlook - there's hardly ever a "one size fits all" situation.

Since you are single and unmarried, why not just go explore more (in private sector) first?

If you are still young, why still limit your capabilites to work in gov sector? its not worth.

Given my previous experiences in gov and private sector, i would say just go to gov. Free and easy. Chill je.
