Do we need to wear formal attire to go interview?

is it wrong to ask the company if i need to wear formal for interview? (since not all job are office job)

I dont think is wrong. It is good to ask , but you need to phrase it properly. Eg: Sir, as I need to ensure I come for the interview in line with your company dressing code, should I come in formal or casual for the interview?
