The difference between shift work & shift day

anybody can clarify with me what is the difference between shift work and day work? i heard that if a staff work for 12 hours for shift work, the lunch break 1 hour is also considered as the staff working hours?

Usually shift work is for factory, meaning on shift, such as day shift and night shift. Day work usually refers to those working in office, the whole day in office from 9 to 6 for an example
