If the offer stands why not? I have had ppl change jobs and had better offers too. It all comes down to the company's direction and what do you have to add value in

This is a very good question which one is in a fortunate position to ask. Of course, if the offer is aligned to what your friend is expecting, then yes, I say, go ahead with it and try out the job. If your friend is afraid of being locked down in case he or she wants to explore other options soon after, don't worry, there is always a probationary period in place.
