Should I stay for permanent role?

I have worked in this company for quite sometime under a contract role. I was told by my superior that I would receive my permanent role at any point of time but at the end of period was given too.

If u type of challenger ,u can try search new opportunity with new company..coz u need permanent possition.. but if u type or wait and see type jobseeker better stay..coz lot of company is hard to take employe this time(pandemic covid 19)..btw if u contract u can made some side income such as, like build some small business with ecommerce site and etc

In the current economic climate, many permanent roles are changing to contract roles. Plus many companies may be less stable now. But the main question you should ask yourself is whether you enjoy your role and like working there in general (do consider that nowhere is perfect, so you may have parts that you don’t like, but that’s normal). If the answer is yes, then contract is fine.

I think having an extension would possibly mean that you are someone valuable at this point. So perhaps a frank conversation about where the company's direction is would be a good gauge if you'll be able to continue building your career there. If yes than the contract is worth the stay.

Are you still on probation? I typically extend probations when I am unsure about performance.

If they're still paying you, I'd suggest you to just hold on even if the position is not permanent because at this rate, even the major companies have already freeze all their hiring and promotions, I'd like to believe the reason for your extension is due to the economical state. However you should also talk to your boss when the time is right to get some clarification on this too cause you can't stay in this state forever as well.

Most companies are going through an extreme challenging time now trying to manage to business, clients, and people matters right now so the team should really show some support too. But here are things you can do / think about: 1. Is this job what you’re wanting to pursue? Are you still passionate in it? Is there still room for growth? 2. Talk to them so you could get a better picture on the current situation, not just about your role, but the company as a whole. It’s a good time to show your concern and how can you be a valuable team member to them. 3. Is a permanent role really the dealbreaker for you? Does it matter at all? Or is it more of the experience, skills, rapport and network you can build at this time. 4. How sure are you that other companies won’t employ a similar arrangement, or not going through a similar tough time? Would you be leaving this to enter another similar situation? 5. Is staying worth it?

Possible why they extend due to ecnomic & convid 19 factors impacted on the company or maybe in between there is a conflict with your supervisor that extend you. Advice is stay put while continue to find a job in the market.
