May I ask if a staff resigned from the company, are they required to do a tax clearance by their own at LHDN office?

Under the Income Tax Act, there is a responsibility of an employer to notify the IRD about a resigning employee not less than 30 days before the last date of service. The employer must withhold the employee's final wages and can only release it to the employee when the IRD issue a tax clearance letter.
