Can HR use previous mistake instead of performance as a reason to terminate workers?

An employee lied about her experience and skill set. But the HR didn't done any due diligence. She work for 2 months and now being terminated due to bad performance. But the HR uses the past lied experience as a reason to terminate instead of her performance.. Is that ok?

If the candidate has signed the application/ contract stated Company has the right to take action if finds out any incorrect info. Then, it's not company false
