Should we pay compensation for termination staff during MCO?

I would like to seek your advice on the termination of staff on probation term which due during MCO. He's been extended twice and now my boss ordered to terminate him. What should the procedure be and how should the letter sound? Should we pay compensation?

Probation period is a period given by company to assess the suitability of a new employee to the job, environment & culture in the company. If an extension has already been given and yet the company does not find suitability, termination is possible.
