If staff had surgery, does it consider as prolonged illness?

If staff is hospitalised after surgery, ie; knee surgery. It is consider as prolonged illness?

Some company will give 22 days of MC then 38 days of Hospitalisation as combined, 60 days.

Even post surgery rest at home can be classified as hospitalization. Depends on doctors advice.

That falls under hospitalization leave. Usually 60 calendar days inclusive of 14 working days MC

Its not governed by law. If you have a prolonged illness policy internally established, then follow that. Otherwise, you are free to decide aka unpaid leave.
