do HR have the right to uae xctv monitor office and staff?

Due to distance and have various offices, I have received complain that staff thumb in to work then disappear until around 6pm then back to office thumb print again. As HR, I had requested CCTV footage from IT but was told we have no right to monitor staff using CCTV. And it is only for security and police case we can access. Can someone give an opinion about this

We can use it for to trace of the staff whereabouts should in your case. HR can question the staff based on the CCTV recording with proper show cause letter for the staff to answer but staff must be aware that they are been monitored by cctv n the location of each cctv otherwise it will be illegal.
