Recently my job application was rejected due to adverse feedback received about me. Is it possible to make an appeal?

Hi, recently i just got a news from CIMB that they unable to proceed with my application due to adverse feedback received about me. I was very shocked of the outcome. I suspected that it was from my recent past employer. I asked her and I was right. Fyi, she is my 1st reference. CIMB did not asked my other references and straight away rejected my application solely based on this feedback. I feel very sad and frustrated. I am also disappointed that CIMB did not give me the opportunity for my clarification. Therefore, I feel that it is unfair for me to get a rejection. So, for my case, is it possible to make an appeal for my job application? Branch Manager of CIMB is helping me to appeal the job application and now need recommendation letter from my other past employers. All of them agreed to provide it for me. So, do I still have the opportunity for my job application to be reconsider?

Yes, it is possible to make an appeal for your job application. It seems that you suspect the adverse feedback received was from your recent past employer, who happens to be your 1st reference. It's unfortunate that CIMB did not ask for other references or give you an opportunity to clarify the situation. However, the good news is that the Branch Manager of CIMB is helping you appeal the job application, and your other past employers are willing to provide recommendation letters. The additional recommendation letters can be valuable in presenting a more comprehensive view of your skills and abilities. By highlighting positive feedback from multiple sources, it can help offset any negative impressions created by the adverse feedback. While the final decision lies with CIMB, presenting a strong case through your appeal and the endorsement of other past employers definitely improves your chances of being reconsidered. It's important to remain positive and professional throughout the process, providing all necessary documentation and any supporting evidence to support your case. Good luck with your appeal, and I hope this situation is resolved in your favor.
