All jobs will be automated some day but it is not clear exactly when. And yes, even software development, engineering, including robotics, will be automated.

One job I had was of human replacing machine, so the opposite case. Very robotic and annoying work, with micromanaging metrics on top. That bothered me far more than the concept discussed here.

Jobs that displace humans generally spawn new industries that require humans. This happens either directly or indirectly.

Computers, robots, and other machines will be able to do the work better, faster, and cheaper than people. People will simply not be needed since they won't be able to compete with Artificial Intelligence.
