Agree. I guess when comes to counselling session, it is good to have a counselling form/communication record to support (with Manager and staff signature), and the next cause of action

When u coin it as Unpaid Leave, it has got to go thru approval process. When it is approved Unpaid Leave then no action shud be taken

No such thing as Unpaid Leave in Labour Law.... It's more of an industry practice

The leave shud not be approved at first place if it is too many. If it is being control in such a manner and wo approval he is still absent, then it is absent wo approval. When he is absent wo approval .... then u know what to do la kot

Action can only be taken for leave without approval. So never condone such absence if u want to hv a grip/control on staff

Even Emergency leave, the staff shall seek approval from the line superior/manager first. If superior allowed and the staff was not being pre-frame on this matter, then HR shall speak to the staff's superior/Manager prior to any further action to the staff

Yes. It's mgmt decision, and company policy. If taken too much, then HR have to counsel the staff.
