Former employer gave adverse feedback about me to my future employer which led to rejection for my job application.

I almost get employed by my dream company but yesterday morning I received an email from them stating that they unable to proceed with my application regarding the adverse feedback received about me. Its unfair for me to both past and future employer. For past employer, they did not even provided me with an offer letter which is hard for me to know the policy, guidelines, and my exact job roles. For my future employer, they straight away rejected me without asking my clarification on the adverse feedback. What should i do now? I really want to work with my future employer because it has been my dream career but due to an adverse feedback, they decided not to proceed with my application.
